Basic setup

For pre-made supplier templates, see the section below.

In addition to the templates, for CD onbody design we recommend you have 3 InDesign layers for your design. Please use the measurements below unless otherwise specified by the suppliers template.

1. Top layer contains guides made with a spot colour ‘Guides’ (120mm diameter for the CD)
2. Middle layer contains the CMYK or Pantone main design (116mm outer and 22mm inner circle print area)
3. Bottom layer contains the White ink made with a spot ‘White’ colour for a white base mask (115mm and 23mm)

The guides(1) and the main design(2) must overprint on top of the White ink layer(3), or it will not print when making a combined PDF. Alternatively separate PDFs can be made of each individual layer in turn. Use separations preview to check overprint. Do not add bleed to designs as the ink is applied directly to a CD at finished size.

Templates

This download contains templates for audio printed materials, including: booklet, inlay (front, back and wrap), CD/DVD onbody, and slipcase. For the CD onbody, please place the template on a separate InDesign layer unless instructed in the templet instructions.
