InDesign elements
Applying special finishes to InDesign elements
- Any InDesign created element can be coloured with a spot colour via the swatches panel (Window>Colour>Swatches).
- Apply overprint via the Attributes panel. Make sure to check both the fill and stroke if they’re used (Window>Output>Attributes).
Duplicating InDesign elements from the CMYK layer to create special finishes
- Duplicate the wanted element and move to a new layer that is named after the type of special finish.
- Make sure to turn off any effects or blending modes that may have been applied via the Effects panel and ensure the Opacity is set to 100% (Window>Effects).
- Re-colour with the spot colour that you created for your special finish via the Swatches panel (Window>Colour>Swatches). Make sure to re-colour both the fill and stroke if they’re used.
- Apply overprint via the Attributes panel. Make sure to check both the fill and stroke if they’re used (Window>Output>Attributes).
